Selwyn Auger passed away unexpectedly on 16th May 2008 at Prince Charles Hospital, Merthyr Tydfil
aged 70.
What can I say about Uncle Selywn, he was a wonderful person, who spoke his mind but was always kind
and caring. He touched the lives of so many people over the years.
He was like a father to me and a grandfather to my 5 children, my youngest called him Grandpa and
loved him to bits.
Uncle Selwyn had been ill for quite a while and had been in and out of hospital a lot over the last
few years, we thought he was finally on the mend, my mum rang me to say that the hospital had phoned
her to go up to the hospital but by the time we got there he had already passed. He will be greatly
missed by both family and friends alike.
The funeral service was held on Thursday 29th May 2008 at The Salvation Army Citadel in Merthyr
Tydfil at 10.20am followed by cremation at Llwyndcoed Crematorium at 11.20. After days upon end of
rain we all got up to beautiful sunshine and a blue sky the perfect weather to see Uncle Selwyn
off.
The family would like to thank everyone that attended the service for their kind thoughts and
comments.
God saw you getting tired
and a cure was not meant to be,
So he put his arms around you
and whispered "Come to Me".
With tearful eyes we saw you,
as you had passed away.
Although we loved you deeply,
we could not make you stay.
Your Golden Heart stopped beating,
hard working hands at rest.
God broke our hearts to prove to us,
He only takes the best.
Thankyou in advance to anyone that takes the time to light a candle for my wonderful Uncle.

Hello grandad, i thought it was time that i came to see you i miss you soooooo much. i wish you were here with me.I havent really got much to say to you but i wanted you to no that i am ok i have a new boyfriend and i think you really would have liked him. i miss you so much grandad. they say it gets easier but it really doesnt its just a case of having to live with the fact that you are gone. i will never forget you grandad love you always xxxx

Uncle Selwyn, you may not have been my real dad but you were always like a father to me, you were there for me right at the beginning and although circumstances beyond our control seperated us for many years you were always in my thoughts, you were my second father and became a grandpa to all my children. So today I wish you a very Happy Fathers Day from us all xxxxxx
